PALADIN
// MORNING

// YOUR DECLARATION

I'm becoming someone my future self respects, calm, present, and proud of how I spend my mornings.

SERGEANT

DAY 30 · 30 TO KNIGHT

I'M HERE TODAY

TODAY PROGRESS SETTINGS

THE MIRROR · 01

You already
know the loop.

  • The hours that vanish.
  • The promise that this was the last time.
  • Ashamed after. Distant from the people who matter.
  • Stuck in the same loop, telling no one.

You've tried quitting on willpower — white-knuckling a streak until one bad night erased it. Everyone has. That's not a character flaw. It's a flaw in the method.

Willpower alone
doesn't hold.

HOW IT HOLDS · 02

Most apps stop at counting days.
Paladin counts who you're becoming.

Recovery isn't a streak you white-knuckle. It's an identity you embody: one declaration written on day one, surfaced every morning, every panic moment, every slip — in your own words. The streak only matters because it's evidence.

// THE MECHANISM

Who you declared and who you're becoming converge at every check-in. The app is the mirror. The work is yours.

THE LOOP · 03

Three moves.
Every morning.

// THIRTY SECONDS. ONCE A DAY. THAT'S THE LOOP.

01 // ANCHOR

Anchor your identity.

Your declaration is one sentence, written once in onboarding. Every morning it's the first thing you read — the same words you wrote on day one.

· Written once. Read daily.

02 // CHECK IN

One tap.

Tap I'm here today. The day is yours because you marked it. That's the whole ask.

· Configurable reminder.

03 // EVOLVE

Earn your rank.

Nine ranks across the year. Recruit at day 1. Sergeant at 30. Highlord at 365. Your rank advances automatically as the work compounds.

· Earned by showing up.

THE ROAD · 04

Who you are at day 90.

Nine ranks across the year — Recruit at day 1, Paladin at 90, Highlord at 365. Each one crossed by the days you marked yourself. Your apex never moves backward; your work is preserved, even through a slip.

THE 1AM MOMENT · 05

For the moment
it actually gets difficult.

The urge doesn't come at 9am when you're strong. It comes late, alone, tired. One tap opens the panic flow — the same four steps, every time, available from day one.

01 // DECELERATE

"Slow down. Take a breath."

A forced pause before anything else. A few seconds you can't skip — because the urge wants speed.

02 // BREATHE

"4-7-8 breathing."

Three paced cycles, haptics on every inhale. The body settles first. The mind follows.

03 // REMEMBER

"Remember who you said you are."

Your declaration and your reasons, read back to you — in the words you wrote on day one.

04 // REDIRECT

"Pick one. Do it now."

Your pre-committed habit list: pushups, cold water, a walk, a text. Then: “Take your time. We'll wait.”

THE SLIP · 06

Built for the day
you slip.

"This is who you said you want to become. That hasn't changed."

// THE SCREEN YOU SEE AFTER LOGGING A SLIP

You log it. One calm screen, your declaration on it, no shame mechanics. Your days-clear count restarts — that's the honest part — but nothing you've built is taken from you. Tomorrow's check-in still counts.

// WHAT A SLIP CAN'T TOUCH

RANK PRESERVEDCHECK-IN STREAK PRESERVEDBADGES PRESERVEDLIFETIME STREAK PRESERVED

// BADGE: SHOWED UP AFTER A SLIP

There's a badge for checking in sober the day after a slip. Coming back is the skill. Paladin honors honesty the same way it honors consistency.

FOUNDER'S NOTE · 07

Why I built this.

Paladin exists because I needed it to. I knew the loop from the inside — the lost hours, the quiet promises, the slow erosion of trust in my own word. What finally moved the needle wasn't a bigger streak counter. It was deciding, in writing, who I was becoming — and proving it to myself daily, in small, boring, repeatable ways.

So I built the tool I wish I'd had. No community to perform for. No chatbot. No shame mechanics. Nothing watching. One sentence, one tap, one rank at a time.

If you know the loop I'm describing, this was built for you. See you at day one.

PRIVACY · 08

We can't see you.
By design.

Paladin reads nothing about who you are. Every check-in is between you and your phone.

Every check-in, every slip, every word of your declaration is encrypted on your devices with keys only your devices hold. Apple can't read it. We can't either. No sign-up, no email, no username. Your Apple ID is the only key. There is no central database for anyone to breach.

Discreet on your lock screen, too. The daily reminder says "Today's check-in" — and nothing else. No notification ever names what this app is for.

FAQ · 10

Common questions.

What happens if I slip? +
You log it. The relapse handler is one calm screen with your declaration on it: "This is who you said you want to become. That hasn't changed." Your rank, your badges, and your lifetime streak all keep moving forward.
I've tried quitting before. Why would this work? +
Because it doesn't ask more of your willpower. Most attempts fail on the same design: a day counter that treats one bad night as total collapse. Paladin anchors the work to an identity you wrote yourself, resurfaces it every morning and every urge, and preserves your progress through slips. You're not defending a number. You're becoming someone — and that survives a bad night.
Will anyone know I'm using this? +
No. There's no account, no email, and we never send you anything. Notifications are discreet — the daily reminder just says "Today's check-in." Your data is end-to-end encrypted in your private iCloud, so there's nothing on our side to leak, even in a breach.
Is this therapy? +
No. Paladin is training, not treatment. It's a daily discipline tool — not a medical or clinical program, and not a substitute for professional support if you need it. It works alongside whatever else you're doing.
Is this NoFap? +
Paladin is a tool, not a community. The thesis is identity-first and secular: you write who you want to become, you show up daily as them, your streak reflects what actually happened. Data, not a score to maximize.
How does the blocking work? +
iOS already has a curated content filter built in. Apple's "Limit Adult Websites" setting in Screen Time works across Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and most in-app browsers. Paladin walks you through enabling it with a proper Screen Time passcode (three valid methods) and the critical Apple ID recovery skip step.
How private is my data, really? +
Your check-ins, declaration, slips, and toolkit live in your iCloud private database, end-to-end encrypted by Apple, with keys held by your devices. Even if our infrastructure is breached, there's nothing for an attacker to steal because we never had it.
What does the trial cost? Can I cancel? +
Three days free with full app access — no payment info required to start. After that, $9.99/month or $49.99/year. Cancel anytime in iOS Settings → Subscriptions. Apple handles the billing. We send a push 24 hours before the trial converts, so you're never surprised.
iPhone only? +
iPhone only at launch, iOS 18 or later. Shipping one platform deeply rather than several superficially. Android, web, and Watch are open questions for later releases.
